ANNIE IVANOVA
[ THE THIRD SPACE ]
|
The most consequential work happens where the rules have not yet been written—where categories dissolve, and something genuinely new and positive emerges.
Postcolonial theorist Homi Bhabha named this The Third Space: not a compromise between opposites, but the tension and opportunity that exists at their boundary. It is neither one thing nor the other. It is the emergence that neither could produce alone. In my work, that space is the site where Art and Design converge, where Science meets Creativity, where Indigenous knowledge and mainstream practice encounter each other, where East and West move beyond translation into genuine dialogue. There are no opposites—only unexplored possibilities for deeper engagement and understanding. This site documents this pursuit—the connections I have spent a lifetime building across boundaries, and across the world. [ LEADING FROM THE CENTRE ] |
